The Public Health Agency (PHA), Breastfeeding Strategy Implementation Steering Group (BSISG) spotlight on Breastfeeding Research 2019 was held on 8 November 2019 at Ulster University (UU) Jordanstown. The event was chaired by Professor Marlene Sinclair, Professor of Midwifery Research, Head of Maternal, Fetal and Infant Research Centre at the Institute of Nursing and Health Research, Ulster University. The keynote speaker Professor Dame Tina Lavender presented a methodology paper on ‘Synthesising the evidence to support breastfeeding practice’. In the afternoon, a roundtable workshop was held to discuss breastfeeding research priorities, and this was attended by mums, members of the public, policy makers, researchers and health care professionals.
